We’re all familiar with the bumpers at the bowling alley which are typically put up for children. Bumpers are such a big deal in bowling because they safeguard against failure—a gutter ball—by keeping the ball on track to where it’s intended to go. But think about how our actions to take control of our lives are no different than the ball we roll down the alley. Sometimes our actions are launched and reach the goal and sometimes they get us in the gutter because we allowed ourselves to get distracted or discouraged.
The best way to make sure you reach your goals is to put up mental bumpers to keep you focused and your actions guided, just like the bowling ball. You can only know when your actions are moving toward the gutter by knowing exactly what you want them to accomplish and being highly sensitive to sensing when you’re off track. We are off track and heading for the gutter when we experience negative feelings and emotions about ourselves, our life and our goals, or when we stop taking action altogether.

Mental bumpers are the steps we take to encourage and motivate ourselves. Listening to personal development audios or reading a few pages from an inspirational book every day will help distract your mind from things that set out to get you in the gutter. Like many others, you will find yourself in gear when you have your goals written down and posted a few places around the house and even in your car. Keep your mind in a constant, daily state of development and become a student of personal success.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to know a lot about this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with a few percent to force the message home a bit, but instead of that, that is wonderful blog. An excellent read. I'll definitely be back.

I haven't heard about that before. It's a new concept for me. Is it okay?
